The Chinese Zodiac Story – OX

2020 was a tough year for many people due to COVID-19 and many activities were stopped due to this pandemic.

Firstly, we would encourage you to give thanks if you’re still healthy. Yes, that’s the greatest treasure nowadays. Having lots of assets and money are in vain without having healthy body.

2021 has opened a new window opportunity for the world, COVID vaccines have been successfully distributed to the countries that are hit the most from this pandemic.
We’re so lucky living in Australia, our government with the support of all Australians did a fabulous job to beat this virus. Most of businesses and activities start coming back to normal.

Anyway, Chinese New Year 2021 is coming just around the corner. We’re pretty sure that many people still have no idea why Chinese Zodiac exists and what are they? Why did Ox come as the second in Chinese Zodiac? Let’s us tell you a story of this.

If you see from the image above, the order is: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig.

Once upon a time there was a wise king who ruled both Heaven and Earth for many years, his name is Emperor Jade.
Despite of reigning for so many years, he never had a chance to visit the earth to say hello to all creatures that occupied earth.

He was curious to find out what the creatures looked like, therefore he sent a word to earth that he was looking for the first 12 animals to be his guard for those that came first at his palace in a race at certain time.

At the beginning of the race, Cat and Rat jumped on top of the Ox while he was about to cross the river.
Ox knew about this, but he was cool and had no issue about that.
In the middle of the river, Rat being the cunning animal purposely pushed forward Cat.
Cat fell into the River and struggled to find a safe place.
Now you know why Cat hates water and hunts Rat for a revenge – LOL.

Closing to the other side of the land, Rat jumped over the OX and ran away towards the palace without saying “Thank you Ox”.
Therefore, Rat came the first and Ox the second.

We’ll cease the story for now as 2021 is the year of Ox.

According to ChineseNewYear.net

Men born in the Ox year are reliable and trustworthy. They put their entire heart into everything they do. They feel great responsibility towards their family as well. However, due to their confidence (almost arrogance), they don’t allow anyone to go against their rules. They hold your children to high expectations, even though it might be unrealistic.

Women born in the Ox year are calm and gentle. They will never surrender to fate and rarely think of choosing an alternative. This no doubt leads to a life of struggles. But no matter what, they will walk down the road they choose until the end. Despite this stubbornness, they think and react quickly.
